What's New

Sport Pilot Enhancements   (8/17/2008)

For U.S. subscribers, the Qualification and Limitation Checker has two new checks. First, Sport Pilots have a valid driving license on file. Second, the aircraft to be reserved or dispatched is an LSA (land or sea plane, two seats, and gross weight).

Aircraft Rental Cost Sharing   (7/9/2008)

Sometimes two pilots will share the same flight and wish to split flight hours and charges equally between them. MyFBO.com now addresses this situation by allowing a second pilot in command to be added to a solo flight reservation.

A two-pilot reservation is dispatched the same as any other. Pilot A is the main party on the reservation, and it will be dispatched in his or her name. On check-in, enter the FINAL Hobbs and tach readings for the flight under Pilot A. Then use the red "Split Now" button to divide the time with Pilot B.

The resulting receipts for the two pilots will each include half of the charges, and flight time will be properly credited to the Time In Type for each pilot.

Enhanced Flight and Duty Time Tracking   (4/20/2008)

Flight and Duty time tracking is now available. The duty time tracing is now available in four FAA flavors plus one for Australian operators:

*FAR 91.1057 - for Fractional Ownership (Subpart K) operators
*FAR 121.471 - for Domestic Airline operators
*FAR 135.265 - for Scheduled Charter operators
*FAR 135.267 - for Unscheduled Charter operators
*CASA Civil Aviation Orders Section 48.1

Managers can report on duty time and Flight Crew can access the duty time analysis report from their Personal Menus.

Competency and Line Checks   (4/18/2008)

For Part 135 and 91K users, the system can now track competency check and line check dates. The system can also review for expiration of those checks upon scheduling and dispatch.

Horizontal Weight and Balance   (3/28/2008)

Completion of a weight and balance check is a critical component of preflight preparation. This is particularly true for helicopters, where both longitudinal and lateral balance must be considered. With many helicopters, a ship properly loaded for takeoff can be out of balance longitudinally and laterally when the fuel tanks are near empty. Thus, checking longitudinal and lateral balance both in takeoff- and landing-fuel configuration is essential.

MyFBO.com has added lateral center of gravity calculations and a related plot to its helicopter weight and balance calculator – for both takeoff and zero-fuel configurations.
